Picture this: After wandering through the vibrant stores of local makers and artists at the storied First United Building in Escolta, you follow the building’s winding staircase to its rooftop dome. There, the afternoon sunlight is filtered through windows, bathing the dome in a soft, warm light. In your hand, a cool glass of wine, and the smooth, rich tones of jazz standards fill the air.
This dreamy image is actually what you can expect at the upcoming Daydreams concert, an intimate live jazz performance. The concert, organized by Noname (the same people who brought us the enchanting candlelit concertos), is happening on the afternoon of Sept. 21.
Daydreams features singer-songwriter and actress Nicole Laurel Asensio, accompanied by Gabe Dandan on strings, Cesar Lagrimas on brass, Mike Lichtenfeld on keys, and Alex Price on percussion. This is Asensio’s second show with Noname, after a sold-out soul, jazz, and funk night last July. This time, the concert repertoire highlights the hits of jazz greats like Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, and more.

The glasses of natty can be paired with classic Lola Nena’s donuts.
